I bought this for a trip to Greece. I was unsure if it would work accurately there but took the chance anyway. Many streets in Greece are not marked. The street signs are placed on the buildings and many have been removed, painted over or hidden behind the landscaping. This little unit proved to be a lifesaver. I can’t say enough about it. The only con was trying to use it in Kastoria, a lakefront city in northern Greece. There it was close to being useless. Not that it was Garmin’s fault. Streets are marked on the map that turn out to be dead-ends, stairs, or too narrow to navigate by car. Talked to another person there that had the identical problem with another brand name GPS. My advice in Kastoria; park the car and hire a taxi.

I haven’t tried it in the states yet. Just got back after a 3 month trip. I ordered the free one-time map upgrade for the US and the disk was waiting for me when I got home. Used the disk and upon installation was advised that there was a newer map available which it allowed me to download. I though that was great customer service. My other GPS did not have that option and map downloads were expensive.
