This is an excellent case for the money. Agree with the earlier review that a hole is needed in the case to allow the ambient light sensor to work properly. However, there is a good reason why it’s not there: the sensor location moved between the 2nd generation and 3rd generation iPod touches (I have both, and compared the sensor location carefully before making a hole in the case for each specific iPod). This means the manufacturer would have to make cases for specific models OR provide a case with multiple holes (not aesthetically pleasing).

A hole can be made easily using a sharp punch of the proper diameter (often used for leather work or woodworking). Sensor now works perfectly on both units. Be sure to verify the EXACT location of the sensor on your iTouch and transfer it to the case prior to making the hole.

The case WILL work with sensor blocked, but backlighting will be inadequate with strong ambient light.
