I recently purchased my first Kindle, and being the accident-prone klutz that I am, I knew I needed some sort of case to keep it functional. I was originally planning on purchasing the leather case with light, but then I realized that would defeat one of the key pros of the Kindle: its lightweight design. I didn’t want to make it any heavier so that it would be comfortable to read for long periods of time. I had previously purchased Built sleeves for other electronics, and the Kindle sleeve measures up the the high standard I have come to expect. The material is very strong and the product is well made. Additionally, the inner liner is basically faux fur, which protects the Kindle screen well. Additionally, the sleeve comes in a great color/pattern selection.

The one downside is that, as noted in other reviews, the sleeve smells distinctly oily or plastic-y and industrial right out of the package. I hadn’t experienced this with previous Built products, but it just needs some time to air out, and perhaps a run through the washing machine.
