I picked this up to add to the limited number of USB ports on my netbook (ASUS 1005HA). It does exactly what it says it does, and now I can keep all my peripherals connected with a single port.

It easily powers my external hard drive and external DVD writer, and it has the advantage that I can keep all of the external devices connected with a single USB port.

I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that it’s a little flimsy and the cable that connects the hub to the PC could be a little longer (6 to 12 inches would be ideal).

I’ve also used it on a MacBook Pro, and it simply works, plug’n'play.

I plan on ordering another to keep in my car, so I can power / charge all my USB devices while I’m on the road.

I ordered it on a weekend and it was delivered on the Friday following, so the vendor is on the ball in terms of shipping. If you need more ports, this is the deal for you!
