I ordered this battery for my CQ50 series HP Compaq laptop as my original is begining to show its age. I followed the directions exactly for charging this battery up the first time and discharging. It seems to work great and has lasted 4+ hours with the screen dimmed while I’m taking notes in class. I like the fact that it tilts the laptop up as well as this seems to help airflow for my computer which is susceptible to over heating. One thing I noticed though is HP’s battery check utility doesn’t seem to be able to calibrate this battery for whatever reason even though I have completely charged and discharged the battery several times. This hasn’t seemed to have any effect on performance though. The only gripe I have with this batter is that due to the shape it doesn’t lock into the laptop very well. I have put my laptop to sleep and then into my backpack and it jiggles just enough to break that connection and lose the sleep state. Occasionally I’ve had to fiddle with it to get it all the way in so that the laptop will recognize it. Other than that it’s been great. I’d recommend it to anyone with a compatible laptop especially since the normal battery is about the same price.
